Promoting partnerships, policies and programs that protect
and enhance the health of the Oxford Hills community.

Substance Abuse Task Force
Mission:

The SATF is a multi-disciplinary collaboration designed to promote community awareness, education, prevention and treatment of substance abuse in Oxford Hills. Our key focus population is youth.

Meetings are held monthly at OHCHS from 2:15 to 3:45. Upcoming meeting dates are:
March 26
April 23
May 21

Objectives Include:

  • Increase effectiveness of local underage drinking law enforcement policies and practices.
  • Reduce the appeal of high risk drinking by increasing the knowledge of health risk.
  • Increase recommended parental monitoring practices for underage drinking.
  • Decrease promotions and pricing that encourage high risk drinking among young adults.

The overall strategies of this plan are to move towards this vision - to change the culture and make the use of illict drugs (including alcohol for minors) harder and less socially acceptable.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend - join us for our next meeting! Contact our program coordinator for details.
