Norway Triathlon-2013
Saturday, July 13th
Thiis year's Norway Triathlon promises to be a fun sprint triathlon on and around Lake Pennesseewassee in Norway.
The purpose of the triathlon is to promote healthy active lifestyles, to conserve local natural resources and to help the local businesses and economy. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Western Foothills Land Trust and its mission to conserve and preserve the natural ecosystem, watershed, farm and forest land, and scenic landscapes in western Maine.
All competitors will have RFID timing chips to gather accurate transition times and split times. Relay swimmers, bikers and runners will transfer chips at the exchange. The exchange will be the tag off.
The course will begin with a 1.4 km run from the transition area onto Rt. 118 (Waterford Rd./Lake Rd.) along Lake Pennesseewassee turning onto Roberts Rd. After turning left into Roberts Farm Preserve you will begin a 2 km trail loop. Upon exiting Roberts Farm you will head back to the finish line located near the transition area.
